It all started from a friend, a colleague, a peer . . .
From being bored with the same routine, from plateauing time and time again . . .
I wanted to get healthy, I wanted people around me who cared . . .

They called it constantly varied, functional movements, executed at high intensity . . .

It's about taking the first step -

It's called CrossFit and I friggin' love it!

An Ode to Opens

No song lyrics - title misinterpretation.  I had no thoughts, no dreams, and no aspirations.  I just did it, just to do it.  A testament to myself and what I would be capable of.  Given that the last workout was the same as last year, it was the only true way of being able to test whether or not I had truly improved.

Surprise Yourself

Initial reactions to 12.4 included the following:"150 what?"
"Karen plus wha. . . .?"
"Yeah if I make it to the double-unders"
"Gonna try for. . ."

One Last Rep

It always feels like one last rep can be done.  In the CrossFit season when every second counts, every rep can be performed with such sheer determination that it is inspiring for anyone to watch.

My Team

My team is made up of every walk of life.  People with common and uncommon jobs, common and uncommon lives, and anything else that you can think of.  Guess what?  Our common purpose to draw us together is CrossFit and our common goal, to make the most of every workout that the CrossFit Opens provides us so that we can represent ourselves at the Regionals in May in Canton, MA.
