Doubting yourself leads you down such a dismal path, think of it as walking in the street through the pouring rain, with wet shoes, over-sized clothes, and to top it all off, a 18 wheeler splashes you with crap from a huge puddle on the side of the road. . .
The wet shoes cause your traction to slip.
You also develop callouses and blisters in your feet which make it very difficult to move.
The over-sized clothes dampen your spirit and they weigh so much and hold you down making it difficult to move forward.
The 18 wheeler could give two craps about you - that's just icing on the cake to get even more sullen about your current dilemma.
Chin-up. Stand up straight. Look inside yourself - inside every single person is a pile of tinder near your heart to get you fired up. Spark the tinder.
When you doubt yourself - you lose focus, determination and your ability to press on. Understandably, it is very difficult, we know that $hit ain't easy, hell, sometimes life isn't easy, and yet we still press on. Once in awhile you get thrown a curve ball, you can sit down and pout- or you can get off your a$$ and move.
Last night saw people moving - a lot. For some - the ability to do double-unders in a WOD (yay Jen and Toni) for others their ability to do the burpeesf, and finally for all, to finish the WOD.
Last night wasn't just about you. It was a Hero WOD in remembrance of those who sacrificed themselves for us - and in return we show our respect and become completely humbled by what they represent to us - hard work, determination, and pride.
Stay true to yourself, work it one rep at a time, regardless of the workout, focus on the rep and not what is left to do.
